Dwelvo

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 6 July 2026

This policy explains how Dwelvo("we"), the data controller, handles your personal data. Contact us at privacy@dwelvo.app.

What we collect

Your email address (for magic-link sign-in), the display name you choose, and the content you create, rooms, tasks, decisions, and photos you upload of your home.

Why, and our lawful basis

We process this data to provide the app to you, running your household, syncing it with the people you invite. Our lawful basis is performance of a contract (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We do not use your data for advertising. We run self-hosted, cookieless usage analytics (Umami) to see which features get used, it counts visits and basic events, not people: no cookies, no persistent identifiers, and your IP is only ever stored as a salted hash that rotates daily, so it can't be used to track you across days or link back to your account.

Who we share it with

We use these processors to run the service: Supabase (database, auth, photo storage), Vercel (hosting), Resend (sign-in emails), Stripe (payment processing for the Plus tier, if you upgrade, we never see or store your card details), and Sentry (error tracking, so we can fix bugs, captures stack traces and request metadata when something breaks, no card data). Each processes data under a data-processing agreement.

Your account, your rooms and tasks, and your photos are stored and processed in Ireland, and the servers that render the app run there too.

Two exceptions, so you know where your data actually goes. Stripe is based in the United States, so if you upgrade, the details of that payment are transferred there under the UK Addendum to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses. Sentry may process error reports outside the UK/EU on the same basis. Both hold only what is described above, and neither receives your photos.

Some product links you add yourself (in a task's Requirements list) may be tagged with an affiliate code for the retailer, so Dwelvo may earn a small commission if you buy through them, at no extra cost to you. We only tag links you paste in yourself, we never add or suggest products.

How long we keep it

We keep your data while your account is active. You can export or permanently delete it at any time from Settings.

Dwelvo households are shared. Content you contribute, rooms, tasks, decisions, and photos, stays with the household for the remaining members after you leave or delete your account, so the people you renovated with don't lose the shared history. Your own account, email, and display name are removed when you delete your account.

A household with no member who has signed in for 12 months is automatically and permanently deleted, along with everything in it.

Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, export, and erase your data, and to object to or restrict processing. Use the export and delete-account tools in Settings, or contact us. Export covers the home you currently have open; if you belong to more than one, switch the active home and export each. You can complain to the ICO (ico.org.uk) if you're unhappy with how we handle your data.

Cookies

We use only strictly necessary cookies, your sign-in session, a preference for which household is active, and a preference remembering the room you last added to. No advertising or tracking cookies, so no consent banner is needed.
