Getting started

How do I get my partner in?
Open Settings and copy the invite link, then send it to them. They open it, sign in with their email, and they land in your home with everything you have already added. There is one home shared between you, not one each.
Do I have to type everything in myself?
No. Starter plans add a kitchen, bathroom or whole-house plan in one click, with the tasks, the decisions and the order they happen in already filled in. Change or delete anything that does not apply to your house.
I signed in but my home is empty
You are probably in a new home of your own rather than your partner's. Ask them for their invite link from Settings and open that. If you have ended up with two homes, you can switch between them in Settings and delete the empty one.

Signing in

The sign-in email has not arrived
Check the spam folder first, since mail from a new sender often lands there. Everything expires after an hour, so if it has been sitting longer than that request a new one.
Do I use the code or the link?
Either. The same email carries a six digit code and a sign-in link, so use whichever suits you. The code is handy when the link opens in the wrong browser.
The link says it has expired or has already been used
Each link works once and lasts an hour. Opening it in a different browser to the one that requested it, or letting a mail app preview it, can use it up. Request a fresh one, and use the code from the same email if the link keeps misbehaving.
Can I install it like an app?
Yes. It is a web app, so on an iPhone use Share then Add to Home Screen, and on Android use the install prompt in the browser menu. There is nothing to download from an app store.

How the app works

Why is a task not showing in Ready now?
Ready now only lists tasks that nobody has claimed and nothing is blocking. So a task is missing from it if one of you has already claimed it, if it is waiting on another task or decision, or if it is a decision rather than a task. Decisions live on the Decisions screen.
What does blocked mean?
You can say that one thing has to happen before another, for example that plastering waits on the rewire. While the earlier item is unresolved the later one counts as blocked and stays out of Ready now, so the list only ever shows work you can actually start today.
Why can I not link two items to each other?
Because that would mean each one waits for the other and neither could ever start. The app refuses any link that would make a loop, however long the chain is.
What is the difference between a task and a decision?
A task is work someone does. A decision is a choice you have to make, and it can carry the options you are weighing up with a note and a link on each. Decisions block tasks, which is how the app stops you tiling before you have chosen the tiles.
Who does the work? Can I assign a task to my partner?
Deliberately not. Tasks sit in a shared pool and you claim the ones you are picking up, which is what stops the app turning into a way to give each other jobs. You can suggest that something suits one of you, or needs a trade, but nobody is assigned anything.
My partner's changes are not showing up
The app updates by itself when the other person changes something, usually within a second or two. If it looks stale, reload the page. If it is still stale after a reload, the change did not save, so let us know.

Photos and the keepsake

Who can see my photos?
Only the people in your home. Photos are stored privately and served through short-lived links, so they are not on a public address that anyone could guess or share by accident.
How do before-and-after photos work?
When you add a photo to a task you can mark it as the before or the after. Once an item or a room has both, the app can show them as a pair, and that is what a keepsake is built from.

Plans and billing

What do I get on the free plan?
Every part of planning the work, with ceilings rather than locked features: 20 open tasks and decisions at once, 2 people in a home, 2 photos per item, 5 requirements per task, 4 options per decision and 5 blockers per item. Finishing work frees the space up again, because the cap counts what is open rather than what you have ever added. The extras Plus adds outright are the shopping list and a custom accent colour.
I have hit the limit and I do not want to pay
The cap counts open items, not everything you have entered. Mark finished work as done and resolve the decisions you have already made, and the space comes back. Nothing you have added is ever hidden or deleted for being over a limit.
How do I cancel?
Email hello@dwelvo.app and we will cancel it for you. There is no self-serve cancel screen yet. Cancelling stops the next payment and you keep Plus until the end of the period you have already paid for.
Something went wrong with a payment
Email hello@dwelvo.app with roughly when it happened and we will sort it out. Getting in touch is much quicker than going through your bank, which takes weeks to resolve either way.

Your data

How do I get my data out?
Settings has an export that downloads your whole home as a JSON file. No need to ask us for it.
How do I delete my account or my home?
Both are in the danger zone at the bottom of Settings. Deleting the home is for whoever created it, and only once they are the last person in it, because deleting it would erase the other person's work too. So remove the other member first. Deleting your own account is always available and takes you out of every home you are in.
